About

Kristin Scheeler, MSSW, CAPSW

Hello and welcome to Madison Care Management, where you can receive ethical and holistic social work independent patient advocacy, eldercare case management and death doula services.

My introduction to folks of advanced age, besides my own grandparents, was in Brownies, when my troop leader set each of us up with an “adopted grandparent” at the nursing home in my small town. I loved visiting with mine so much that I would ride my little blue one-speed bike over for extra visits, purchase little gifts for them from the grocery store and even take my half-sized cello to play for them. They’d both died by the time I reached fifth grade, but a love of my elders was already born.

I’m the owner and principal independent social work patient advocate of Madison Care Management. I have over 20 years of experience working with older adults, folks facing the end of life, and those living with a cancer diagnosis. I have strong skills in navigating health systems, health insurance, and benefits like Social Security Disability (SSI/SSDI), Medicare, and Medicaid.

I was trained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. During my social work program, I focused on issues of aging, death, grief, dying, and medical case management. I also have generalist mental health training.

My goal is to quickly and compassionately help you navigate the healthcare system, taking on the frustrating parts so you can focus on your wellness, helping you make sense of a very fractured system, and making you feel valued and heard in the process.

My goal is for you to achieve your goals for yourself, safely and supported.
